Rust (com.rustfitness.app) — this page explains specifically how Rust uses Health Connect / Apple Health data. Last updated: August 2026.
This data comes from whatever device you've connected to Health Connect or Apple Health — Garmin, Apple Watch, or any other wearable that syncs into those platforms. Rust never talks to Garmin's or Apple's servers directly.
When you finish a workout in Rust, we may write an estimated active-calorie total for that session back into Health Connect / Apple Health, so it's reflected in your device's native Activity totals. This is the only data Rust writes.
Health data is read live from Health Connect / Apple Health each time you open the app. Rust does not upload or store your steps, heart rate, or calorie data on our servers.
Access is opt-in — Rust only requests this data after you explicitly tap "Connect" and approve the native permission screen. You can revoke access at any time in Health Connect settings (Android) or iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health (iOS).
For everything else Rust collects and how it's handled, see the full Privacy Policy.
